Borders19-Mixed media object, 2020–2021

A sculptural object combining a fragment of barbed wire from a former European border with a braid of human hair grown during the COVID-19 lockdowns. The work explores borders as material, temporal and bodily systems, positioning displacement and absence as active conditions of the piece.
